Chanda Mills Crutcher is no stranger to hard work. At the age of 16, an age of carefree idleness for most, Pastor Chanda was starting work in the real world. She began as a certified nursing assistant (CNA) in Louisiana and continued working in nursing homes to help pay her way through college. It’s no wonder then that being of service to others became her calling and her career.
In 2018, Pastor Chanda founded the Legacy Center, which helps aging adults continue to live life with independent purpose. The center also provides comprehensive support for caregivers. Not only is the Legacy Center the first facility of its kind in the state of Alabama, but Pastor Chanda is the first certified geriatric care manager in the state. While she describes herself as innovative and driven, it didn’t take long for others in the community to agree. Currently serving on the Governor’s Health Literacy task force, she is recognized as a leading advocate for Older Adults, the Mentally Ill, and traditional family values.
Chanda’s personal and professional motto is that “Legacy is not what we leave; true Legacy is what we live”. And though her legacy has already been cemented as someone who is equally competent as is compassionate, Pastor Chanda’s heart’s desire is serve God and Love People everyday as if it were her last.
